I had a DADDY! A man that took being a man of God, a husband, and a father seriously. He taught not only with his words, but most importantly through his actions. He taught me what it feels like to let a real man love and protect you. By the age of seven, he taught me how to cook, swim, drive, change a tire/oil, and manage my allowance/bank account. By the age of fourteenth, I knew how to use a gun safely, file taxes, and provide nursing care. There was nothing I wouldn’t do for my Daddy, from my first breath to his last. Happy Juneteenth everyone! What is Juneteenth? Glad you asked! Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”) marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday. Apparently all the mommy birds in our neighborhood have been talking about our house being a great safe haven to raise a family. This is the second nest that we’ve found in our entry way wreath this year. In the video you can see our first mama bird feeding her three nestlings. Bird nest feng shui says that a birds nest in your entry way symbolizes good news for your career and life path!
