I know there is something exciting about the “freshness” of a new year, but I experience that feeling at the beginning of every month. I still can’t believe 2018 went by so fast. Just like anyone, I had my highs and lows, but all in all, 2018 was an amazing year for me. I traveled to Punta Cana, DR and Turks and Caicos, celebrated some life altering milestones with my family and close friends, joined a goal focused gym, tried a few new hair styles and ate all kinds of cuisine. I read more, prayed more, ate more, and somehow found myself in a rut around the last quarter of the year. Life was good, but I felt like I just wasn’t progressing.
The last thing I want for this new year, is to repeat last year. My theme for the year is. “A NEW THING.”
18 -“Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
19- Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18-19
I went on a social media hiatus from Sept-Jan 1st from blogging and facebook. I took a break from Instagram for 60 days as well. Unplugging left me feeling disconnected, and although I had more time to focus on other things, I don’t think I will do another hiatus to the same extent. I enjoy connecting with others and keeping up with other inspirational figures. Like anything, moderation in the key.
I didn’t declare any new year resolutions, but I do have some goals that I am working on step by step.
I’m taking the necessary steps to become a homeowner, going back to school (WSSU), digging myself out of this health and fitness rut, and keeping my life and heart open for love.
Share your new year resolutions and/or 2019 goals below. Let’s keep the enthusiasm going all year long!
Everyday will be a new journey. My families goals for this year are to take a vacation, expand on our side hustles, and just keep building upon our foundation. A personal goal of mine is to get my small projects completed in a timely manner, workout (so hard lol) and continue being a great mom!
